Julian Rocks is 80 hectares of aquatic reserve with many species of tropical and temperate fish. The aquatic reserve is designed to protect marine life. Consequently collecting or destroying animals is prohibited, as is spear fishing. Activities include: diving, bird watching, fishing and photography.
Diving: renowned for its diversity of fish, corals and sponges.
Bird watching: the rocks are also a bird sanctuary for gulls, terns, tattlers, cormorants and plovers. The return of seabirds to the rocks at sunset provides spectacular viewing and a great opportunity for the photographer.
Fishing: line fishing is permitted. Take only the fish you need to satisfy your immediate needs.
