The biggest ski resort in Australia, Perisher has a huge range of award-winning terrain options, encompassed within five parks. Beginners should check out Yabby Flat and Piper terrain parks, which feature entry level box and tabletop jumps - ideal for learning the basics and gaining confidence. The Leichhardt terrain park and Blue Cow Terrain Park offer medium to large boxes and rails, with jumps ranging from 15ft to 35ft.Â
The critically acclaimed Slopestyle terrain park at Front Valley is a main attraction, luring some of the world’s best skiers and riders. Take your skills to the next level with bank turns, rollers and tabletop jumps on the Central Valley and Sun Valley rider-cross courses. Nestled in the Yabby Flats terrain park, you’ll also find a 12ft mini half pipe. Â
Thredbo’s terrain parks are home to a range of jump sizes, from beginner slides to a raft of box and rails that will keep shredders happy. Beginners can practice on introductory jumps at Basin terrain park before progressing to the Cruiser Park for next steps including small jumps, fun boxes, tubes and small rails. Laps of the entire park are on offer using the Easy Rider T Bar.Â
Once you have mastered Cruiser, head up to Antons, the place for the big guns with wall rides, rails, boxes, tubes and jumps of various heights. The High Noon Ridercross course is designed for intermediates wanting to conquer the turns, berms and rollers, while for the manic mogul lover, the mogul’s course at Meadows is a true test.Â
