Vincentia
Nelsons Beach, Jervis Bay
The pretty seaside town of Vincentia in the Shoalhaven region is best known for its powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters. A place of extreme natural beauty, uncover a thriving underwater world in Jervis Bay Marine Park, spot playful dolphins and migrating whales or just relax on exquisite beaches.
Grab your beach towel and umbrella because Vincentia is home to 6.5km of white sand beaches, stretching from Huskisson in the north to Hyams Beach in the south. Blenheim Beach is a great snorkelling spot, and there’s a nearby reserve with a picnic area. Orion Beach is one of Vincentia’s best-kept secrets.
A great way to experience the area’s natural beauty is on the White Sands Walk, which begins at the Greenfield Beach picnic area in Vincentia. The 2.5km loop walk finishes at the incredible Hyams Beach. To return to Greenfield Beach, take the Scribbly Gum track through tall forest and woodland.
If you’re after some adventurous exploits, experience the thrill of kiteboarding, go sailing with Jervis Bay Catamaran Sailing Charter or explore an amazing underwater world with Crest Diving. The marine park is a wildlife wonderland of bottlenose dolphins, little penguins, fur seals, sea dragons, colourful fish and migrating whales.
You can rent a bicycle from Around Jervis Bay Bike Hire and explore natural attractions along the foreshore on the many bike paths. Golfers will appreciate the views from The Country Club, which also has a bistro, restaurant, bar and cafe. At the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre there is an indoor water slide perfect for kids.
Located on the NSW South Coast, Vincentia is a 2.5-hour drive from Sydney (along the stunning Grand Pacific Drive) or Canberra. A short drive north is the town of Huskisson, where you can embark on dolphin and whale tours of the incredible Jervis Bay.
