The Wollongong Art Gallery, which is managed by the Wollongong City Council, is one of the biggest regional art museums in Australia. The goal is to enrich the understanding and appreciation of visual arts for the people of the Illawarra area and visitors to the region.

The Wollongong Art Gallery boasts a significant collection of Australian, Aboriginal, and Asian art. The permanent collection serves not only to document the history and artistic practices of the Illawarra region but also to reflect the developments and issues in the art world that are of local, national, and international relevance.

The diverse program of exhibitions and activities showcases the unique energy and creativity of the Illawarra region, as well as those curated by partner institutions from around Australia and the world.

The Wollongong Art Gallery wishes to express respect and acknowledgement of the Traditional Custodians of Dharawal Country, Elders both past and present, and extends that same respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
