This community-driven treasure displays large-scale street art from local and international artists in Katoomba’s historic back laneways. You’ll also discover wonderful contemporary works at the Braemar Gallery in Springwood and Lost Bear Gallery in Katoomba.

Celebrate local talent

In the heart of Katoomba, with a viewing platform boasting incredible views of the Jamison Valley, is the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. This impressive facility is home to the Blue Mountains Art Gallery where the works of local artists are exhibited, as well as screening, artists talks and workshops. Navigate your way through the history of the Blue Mountains World Heritage area in Into the Blue, a high-tech and immersive journey through time.

In Faulconbridge you can visit the Norman Lindsay Gallery, the former home of the famous bohemian artist. Famous for his legendary etchings, watercolours and sculptures, explore Lindsay’s work as you wander through the house, his studios and around the beautiful garden.

The home-crafted works of local artisans can be purchased at many shops in the Mountains such as Leura’s Nook Craft Co-operative, as well as at weekend markets. The Blue Mountains comes alive every year with a dynamic events calendar, from music festivals to fairs celebrating the seasons. Check out the Blue Mountains Music Festival, held in Katoomba every March, for an incredible line up of world-class musicians bringing jazz to the mountains.
